Requirements:
BS Degree, preferably in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biology
3+ years experience in Food Manufacturing
Supervisory experience
Experience in Plant Operations Experience in Microbiology & Food Product Formula & Specification Experience with Ingredient sourcing and specification
Experience in FDA regulated, cGMP facilities
Demonstrated knowledge of Analytical testing methodologies
Experience working with Quality Systems
Practical experience with Statistics: Classical and SPC
Experience with Capital Expenditure Budget planning process
Clearly expresses ideas verbally and in writing
Computer literate effectively utilizing Microsoft Word , PowerPoint, Excel, and SAP        
 
Job Duties:
This critical position provides strategic direction for the implementation and maintenance of quality systems throughout the plant.
The Quality Manager is responsible for implementation and maintenance of all the Quality Systems & Quality Policy in the facility.
They will: Supervise the Food Safety Team (10 total)
Audit plant quality systems
Determine process and equipment capability
Collaborate with Corporate Science and Technology group for the commissioning of new products and formula changes, as well as work with multiple cross-functional teams
Function as Quality Advisor on projects and day-to-day plant operations
The Quality Manager needs to: Have the ability to relate and compare data from different sources; securing relevant information and identifying key issues and relationships from a base of information Have the ability to develop alternative courses of action and make timely decisions based on logical assumptions and factual information
Facilitate in the development of employees knowledge and skills by providing timely feedback and training
Have the ability to establish a course of action to accomplish specific goals through the appropriate allocation of time and resources
